  • Notes
    • THREE VERSIONS:
      1. Baby girl died at 2 or 3 days, never named, per Uncle Charles Nolan.
      2. Aunt Corean says the child was born one night and died the next morning.
      3. Zachary Stanley says the child "lived a day or so."

Earline left Zachary shortly after this event, to marry Aubrey Stanley , Zachary's cousin. This was told to me by Zachary Stanley at a family reunion ca. 1997 or 1998 (?). Zachary also told me how much he loved Earline and was so unhappy when she finally left him that he just stood and cried. Apparently, she took a few things with her when she left, including a hen (!) named Penny that Zachary loved. He told me he would never forget the sight of her getting into the boat with that hen. I did laugh when he told me this story (and so did he) but he also had tears in his eyes, remembering it. He was very passionate in relating to me his feelings for my grandmother and said that he would have married her and lived with her forever, but she didn't want him. =[ Aww! I'm not sure exactly when these events occurred, but I got the sense that she left Zachary not too long after the birth and death of their baby.
