    • James M. Sharplin was born on 12 Jul 1829 in Copiah County, Mississippi.31 He appeared in the
      census on 7 Sep 1850 in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana.93 He was living with his brother, Jeremiah Sharplin. He also showed
      up on the 1850 census of Leake County, Mississippi living with his parents. He purchased 120 acres of land on 27 May 1858
      in Carroll Parish, Louisiana, between Darnell and Epps.94 (S 1/2 of NW 1/4 and NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 8 T19N R10E) He
      sold 280 acres of land including the 120 acres purchased in 1858 on 31 Jan 1859.95 (W1/2 of NW 1/4, SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 and
      SW 1/4 of Sec 8 T19N R10E containing 280 19/100 acres to William H. Parker for $800 cash. Lists James Sharplin's wife as
      Mary Jane Stuart. James C. Nolan was a part-owner of this land.) He died on 22 Oct 1862 in Clinton, Mississippi.31 He died
