      Some have Date of Birth as Abt. 1752.
      From Revolutionary War Pension Claim; Abner was born in 1758. While
      living on Saulda River in the Ninty Six District; he enlisted on 01 Jan
      1779, under Capt. Solomon Pope; and was at the Siege of Agusta. On 01 May
      1781, he enlisted under Capt. Moore and Col. Pickens; was at the Siege of
      Ninty Six. Next he was under Capt. Sterling Turner, and Col. Pickens;
      then he served under Capt. Michael Watson; was in an egagement at Rocky
      Swamp, where Capt. Watson was killed. Next he serverd in Capt. Willaim
      Butler's company of Rangers; was in several engagements with Tories and
      Indians. He was discharged in December 1782. He was allowed 'Pension' on
      his application executed 10 Apr 1833. While a resident of Edgefield
      District, South Carolina.
      1790 Edgefield Census lists: Abner, and 1 male under 16 yrs; 2
      females of all ages.
