    • Margaret Ross, duaghter of Adam Ross, ESQ. (c. 1739-1813), a magistrate of Greene County, Georgia. Adam Ross was a son of Adam and Margaret Ross of SadsburyTownship, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Records indicate the mother of Margaret (Ross) Moore was Miss Harris, daughter of Samuel Harris, Sr., (1715-1789) and wife Martha Laird of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; Anson/Mecklenburg County or Rocky River Harrises of North Carolina, descended from Edward Harris and wife Flora Douglas of Raphoe Parish, County Donegal, Ireland, who were natives of Ayrshire, Scotland. Their son Robert Harris married Dorothy Wiley and emigrated in old age with their grown children, about 1736, to Pennsylvania. RobertHarris died on shipboard within sight of land and was buried in Philadelphia.He was the father of Samuel Harris, Sr., above, of Pennsylvania, who moved to North Carolina about 1750 and to Georgia about 1785. Aside from the Harris-Ross-Moore line given here, Georgia descendants of Samuel Harris, Sr., include theHarris-Baster-Springer-Harris family of Hancock, Carroll, Henry and Bibb Counties, and the Harris-Wiley Baxter-Bird line of Hancock County and Athens.
